Books for every child who needs them:

A simple idea. An achievable goal.

Book Harvest works to provide a book-rich home environment for Triangle children in need.  A nonprofit organization, we partner with caring citizens and community groups to collect new and gently used children's books and use these books to help children build home libraries – and, in the process, to start school ready to learn, to combat summer learning loss, and to self-identify as readers.

We believe books are a vital tool to help all kids succeed in school and in life.  Since 2011, Book Harvest has collected and distributed more than 115,000 donated books to children in need of books throughout the Triangle.

Every child deserves to grow up with books -- yet more than half of low-income kids do not own a single book.  Working together, we can rewrite that reality.

Ready to join us in closing the book gap in the Triangle?  Donate books, run a book drive, volunteer, or give money.  It's easy, and you will feel great!
