Every child needs books. That's why we're here.
Book Harvest's mission is to provide books to Triangle children in need.
We believe that having plenty of books at home helps children start kindergarten ready to learn, combat summer learning loss once they are in school, and self-identify as readers.
We believe books are a vital tool to help all kids succeed in school and in life.
A nonprofit organization, we work with our community to collect new and gently used children's books; we then invite local low-income children to select these books to take home and keep for their very own. Since 2011, Book Harvest has collected and distributed more than 240,000 donated books to children in need throughout the Triangle.
Every child needs books -- yet more than half of low-income kids do not own a single book. Working together, we can rewrite that story.
